Mon. December 30

So sleepy. -.- But if I don't post now, I probably won't get a chance later. I'll try to keep this brief.

Like everyone else, I'll be having weight loss as one of my goals for 2014. But I'm gonna put forth a good effort to do it smartly and properly. At this point, my game plan is to have minimal weigh ins (like once a week) or, if I do weigh myself more often, only compare certain days of the week (perhaps Mondays). I'm not gonna force myself to lose 5lbs every week or something. Just like 1-3lbs a week would be good and, hopefully, maintainable. Obviously, gonna do my best to get to the gym often. Also, I really need to start using my treadmill. Even if I only go for a brisk walk, as opposed to a hardcore run. It's literally less than 3 metres from my bed and I'm too friggen lazy to move my arm chair so I can fold down the walking portion? I'm ridiculous.

And I'm gonna push myself to do that 21 Day Challenge (no pastries, ice cream, chocolate, etc.). Just stick to soups and salads at restaurants, yogurts at Tim Hortons, and have a decent amount of healthy foods to pick from for work lunches.

I'm getting the feeling like I'll be able to stick to this this time, but I've been (so very very) wrong before and often. Really gonna try though. I'm gonna be 26 next year and I can honestly say I probably haven't been an "average" weight for like 2/3 of my life. Maybe longer. Something's gotta give. And it'd be nice to just be able to grab whatever in my closet and have it fit properly. But only time will tell.

Off to bed for me. I hope everyone has a good new year and I'll see y'all in 2014. : )

Dunno about peanut butter though. Maybe just in moderation.

Tue. December 24

Super quick post.

The latest attempt at a few low-cal days didn't have as good results as the last, but oh well.

And today I went to dinner with my dad's side of the fam. Just the standard buffet dinner at Mandarin and then going to my Oma's after for snacks and small talk. It's amazing how doing so little can make you so sleepy.

So, looks like I'll just be chilling in my room til bed time and then Christmas tomorrow. Yay! : )

Tue. December 17

Gonna go for another few low-cal days.

I've been off work for the last 6 days and have eaten pretty poorly. I haven't weighed myself in those 6 days, but I don't expect a good number. So, since I have work for the next 4 days straight, I figure it'd probably be best to try and go low-cal for those days. Not sure if I'll make it meatless as well, but I'll give that a try too. And, despite a day old shoulder tattoo, I was able to get a good, long work out in tonight. : )

Anyway, bed time for me. Wish me luck over the next few days.

P.S. - I'm really looking forward to my family's XMas dinner at the Mandarin buffet on the 24th, but for some reason, the one food item I'm really looking forward to is the steamed rice with soy sauce. I only just found out they have soy sauce by the sushi display and when I went with work last month, I had like 2 helpings. I've been craving rice a lot lately, but haven't really had much. Maybe this will quiet my craving for a while. lol

Thu. Dec 12

Well, I did it.

After 3 days of meatless, low-cal eating and going to the gym each day, I'm down 6lbs. I doubt there were any inches lost, but I physically feel better. I might need to make this a regular occurrence. Or do a few days carb free or something. I'll see. Also, I didn't get to the gym today, but I just did 50 squats and 10 wall push ups. Better than nothing. : )

All the food I brought to work for lunch/dinner on day 1.

Sun. Dec 8

Gonna give something a try this week.

I'm gonna have a few low-cal, meatless days in a row (Mon-Wed). I work 8 hours on all 3 days, which means I won't be able to snack all day. I'll also be hitting the gym after work for all 3 days, so I'm kinda hoping this'll jump start something. Now, the meatless aspect of this is not the main idea. It's just that when I do low-cal days, they consist of eating things like veggies, oatmeal, cereal, and yogurt. So, I thought why not add a little extra challenge and see what a few days without meat will do. Just for fun.

K, that's all I got. I'll let you know how things played out and if I was able to stick with it.
