Today was a little messed up. I was the same weight as yesterday, which wasn't great but at least I didn't gain. Then, I spent a couple hour at the gym and, while there, I was able to run 5K in 35:38, beating my personal best of 36:09. So, I'm hopping I can get down to 35 flat on my next go. I weighed myself when I got home and found I was down a pound. Woo! And what do I do after that? Make a tortilla pizza cuz the pepperoni and sausage is about to go bad. But I figured it wouldn't be a big deal cuz I was packing a pretty healthy lunch for work again. While at work, I only got to have my celery and cucumbers and a bit of my smoothie, which was fine. However, at the end of the night, we had some left over food that I decided to bring home. If I was gonna be bad like that, I probably should have made a smaller sandwich, but obviously, I didn't. Well, if I maintain or gain, then there's no one to blame but me and hopefully I will learn my lesson. I was even considering having some chocolate after all that, since I'd already F-ed up the day so bad. In for a penny, in for a pound, right? But I was able to convince myself that wouldn't fix anything and just make me feel worse. So, I'm just sticking to water for the rest of the night.

I'm on the fence about going to the gym tomorrow. I know I SHOULD, but you're supposed to rest your muscles so they can heal and grow. At the very least, I'll probably find some time to run before work and I'll eat a lot better. Anyway, wish me luck in the morning.

I was down 2lbs this morning. :)

First thing I do? Make myself a pizza sandwich. Next thing? Go for a run on my treadmill. lol.And I burned 451 cals in about 36 mins. That's about 80-90 cals more than when I run around my complex. So, I may need to use the treadmill more often, or step it up on my runs. lol. I also tried to be good and I think this was a fairly decent day. And I can only do better tomorrow. I was gonna run after work but it's raining right now and my parents sleep right near the treadmill. That's ok though. I go into work an hour later than usual tomorrow, so I have more time at the gym.

So, I'm gonna get to bed now and dream about being down another pound tomorrow. Here's hoping. lol

I dunno how I did it, but I was able to break even over the weekend. I haven't gained or lost any weight in the past few days, so I decided to try to be good and eat low cal foods and stuff. I was gonna go to the gym before work, but I really wanted more sleep, so I decided to go after work (which I did). Assuming I see some good results tomorrow, I might try a mainly yogurt and jello day with some pre-work gyming and post-work running. We shall see. I'm gonna need to touch up my roots and do my nails sometime soon too. Just gotta find the time. lol

So, I got my tattoo today. It ended up taking a little longer than expected cuz my artist was having some pretty bad stomach pains and wasn't sure if she was gonna be able to continue. But she took a little break and was able to recover a bit and pull through get it done. I think it looks great. I'm gonna need to go back in the next several weeks for a touch up, but just for a couple minor things. I'll just leave it at that for today and post a pic of my tat. :)

I went to RibFest with a friend today. It was pretty good and not nearly as busy as the one I went to on Canada day. We ended up going around to 5 different vendors and got a pound of pulled pork from each. I could've really gone for a funnel cake or sno cone, but they were both a touch pricey, so I didn't either. We went swimming after and then for ice cream with a friend. I was able to resist the ice cream and get a frozen yogurt instead. The portion was kinda small, but I'm sure it was a proper portion is supposed to look like. lol. We went to Walmart after where I pulled up some more strawberries and bananas. (Mmmm, future smoothies. lol) So, good day for sure, I'd say. Oh, and I was able to walk all over RibFest in a pair of wedge heels without changing into my flip flops. Woo!

Anyway, time for bed now. I'm getting a tattoo in the morning and I need lots of sleep. :)

I was really rushed before work, so I needed something really quick. And, for dinner, I needed protein... and I wanted to indulge a little. Sue me. lol

Anyway, I was thinking at work today that I should have a few low calorie days soon; days where I eat less calories to make it easier to drop some pounds. Not everyday and not for a bunch of days in a row, just a day here and there. However, my plan for making this happen is not the healthiest. Sort of. I'd like to be able to do this by having days of only like smoothie and veggies and I intend to, but I was also considering doing days where I have mainly jello. 1 pre-made cup is 80 cals. If I had 10 in a day, that'd be only 800 cals; I burn more than that in like 5 or 6 hour at work and maybe like an hour at the gym. I'll probably try to throw in a bowl of soup or something, but for the most part, jello. lol. Gotta do this shit while I'm still young(ish) and stupid.

There were a couple times when I wanted to have a bit of chocolate, but I literally told myself "No, shut up, you don't want that. Get over it " and it worked fairly well. Gonna need to make that my mantra or something. lol

Food was pretty decent, but the fitness coulda been a lot better. I was totally ready to go to the gym for a yoga/pilates/tai chi class, but my wrist was sooooo sore. It was pretty sore by the end of the day yesterday and this morning, it suuuuuuucked! I couldn't even do my bra up, so I spent the day in a sports bra. And I figured if I couldn't do that, I wouldn't be able to bench press anything or do various yoga poses, so it probably wouldn't be worth it. I did run after work though. I wasn't any faster, but I tried to throw some short sprints to really push myself. I can already feel soreness in my legs; the good kind of sore though. :)

So, the day started as a decent food day but kinda tapered off a bit at the end/ However, I was pretty active today. Walked to the gym, spent a couple hours there, went to Walmart and picked up another pair of workout pants and a sports bra, peaches, plums, bananas, 3 bags of frozen broccoli and some more low cal jello cups, walked back home and then went swimming in the evening.

Also, I was down a couple pounds. They were pounds that I'd already and put back on, but I think this puts me at the lowest I've been in at least a couple weeks. So that's good. I just hope to be down another pound tomorrow, but we'll see.

Today did not start out well, but I feel better about it now.

I was gonna go to the gym, but it took me a while to get my stuff together and then I couldn't find my keys (which has my little scanner dealie on it) so I decided to stay home and clean and organize my room. After that, I worked 4-11 and when I got home, I went for a run again. I was able to keep track of my laps this time, so I know that I did 10 in about 37 mins and I burned 470 cals. :) Again, I kept a steady pace and didn't slow down to walk. This 5k is seeming less daunting now. (*whispers* I may even consider doing a 10k in the next year or so).  Holy hell, I never figured I'd turn into one of those people. lol

Anyway, I'm lying in bed now with sore feet and a less than stellar stomach situation, so I'm just gonna drink more water and go to bed.

(In case anyone noticed, I haven't been listing water in my food diary, but I promise, I'm drinking lots every day)

All sweaty from my run. Hot, right? :P

Another hot and sticky day. And I spent most of it in a hot kitchen. After work though, I came home and cleaned up and then began the tedious process of deciding what to wear. I had that stereotypical "I have nothing to wear" girly moments. It wasn't cuz I have so few clothes and nothing was clean though cuz I have TONS of clothes; it was a matter of feeling bloated and having nothing look good. I completely realize it's my own fault. It's like all those "thinspiration" pix I see all over tumblr say, "the chocolate bar you've wanted for an hour or the body you've wanted your whole life?" Generally with me, the chocolate wins out. Or, I figure I'll work it off tomorrow or whatever, but clearly, that doesn't happen. I'm considering having a "NO" week where I basically grit my teeth and just willpower my way through my food cravings and stuff. Or maybe I need to do a cycle of my 11 day low carb diet. More time at the gym would probably help since I only got there once this week. Blah to me. :/

Thu. July 12

So, I was really tired at the end of this day and jotted down what I ate really quickly on Notepad, but didn't save it and my computer rebooted without my knowledge, so I lost the info and I can't remember everything. However, I decided to make a posting anyway cuz I was proud of something I did today.

First off, I really didn't want to go to the gym today, but I did it anyway. Then I had work from 4-11. I walked home cuz my dad didn't get off work in time to pick me up. Once I was home, I dropped my stuff, changed into my workout clothes and went for a run around my complex. I don't know how fast I was going; my guess would be like 4.5mph, but kept a steady pace. I didn't slow down to walk or anything. I went for over 30 mins and I think lapped my complex like 8 or 9 times. I was super sweaty afterward, but it was great. Definitely something I'll do again.

Didn't do much calorie counting today. I did go swimming though. And my friend and I ended up randomly going to a restaurant we've never been to before and I got an Indian dish that I rarely get to eat. Fun times. Anyway, I'm tired and I need to be up early for the gym. :)

I don't like the pretzel component of this, but I'd be open to making these sometime.

I did some serious calorie counting today, but I'll get to that in a minute. Ever have one of those days where you don't realize how tired you are, but your body knows and forces you to make up for it? Ya, I had that today. I fell asleep shortly after 3am (not out of the norm for me), was awake for maybe about 30 mins at like 6:20 (going back to my house from spending the night at a friend's place) and then I had my alarm set for 11. I was gonna head to the gym and make use of the extra hour I had before work today (I was scheduled to start at 5 instead of 4), but my alarm went off and I hit snooze, and then hit it again when it went off 5 mins later, and again, and again. I finally said "F it" and just dismissed and decided I'd let myself sleep til my body wanted to wake up. The next time I looked at  my phone, it was just after 12. I was still a little sleepy, so I told myself I'd pass out one more time and then stay awake the next time I woke up. So, I did just that and the next time I looked at my phone, it was 1:09pm. lol. At this point, the gym wasn't really an option, so I just spent my free time before work cooking and doing a little minor meal planning.

Anyway, to the calorie counting. I won't start listing stuff off, but I was a lot more conscious about what I was eating today. I made a double recipe of those applesauce oatmeal cookies I mentioned a few posts ago. I also decided to figure out how many calories my variation had and it looks like it came out to 33 cals. Not bad. :) Also, the broccoli I made was frozen and the bag said 25 cals per 2/3 cup. So, between those 2 food items, I only consumed about 200-ish cals. Obviously, the McD's was not planned, but nobody's perfect. I was also gonna go for a little run around my complex after work, but I got out much later than expected and my feet were kinda hurting. I know, really lame excuses, but tomorrow, I'm either gonna go swimming or to the gym after work tomorrow. And then gym before work on Thursday and then I have Friday off, so more time for the gym.

So, I hope to do well again tomorrow. Already thinking about what I should eat for tomorrow. I'm a little excited. lol

Didn't really get up to much today. Saw the new Spiderman movie, went swimming for an hour in the evening, picked up 6lbs of strawberries for smoothies this week. lol. Also, I went to Lone Star and got the all you can eat fajitas. Generally, I can order like 3 or 4 skillets of meat and finish it without feeling retardedly full. (Please note that you get less and less meat the more skillets you order). Anyway, I wasn't even able to finish 2; I let my friend have my remaining steak. I think that's a good thing? I also had trouble finishing my salad later on. So, I hope that means my stomach is shrinking and means I'll be less likely to gorge myself in the future. lol

I made a big decision today. I've either made a great decision that's gonna serve as motivation to get me in better shape, or I'm friggen crazy. I signed up to do the Run For The Cure 5k this September. So, this means I'm gonna have to step it up at the gym and try to squeeze in runs after work and stuff. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in previous posts, but my best time for running 5km (3.1 miles) is 36:09. Personally, I'd like to be able to run it in under 30mins. Anyway, I have some serious work ahead of me, but I feel confident I can do it. :)

- A couple dozen cucumber slices
- 4 (more) apple oatmeal cookies
- Several wavy Lays chips
- A few (more) Tostito chips
- 50g milk chocolate
- Several Cadbury mini eggs

So, I got to have some fun with food today. I tried out a recipe I found for those cookies. I'll post the pic with the recipe, but I modified it a little. The ingredients I used were...
- 3/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 cup instant oats
- Just a little Aunt Jemima syrup
- A bunch of cinnamon
- A bit of benefiber
- A bit of baking powder
It didn't come out overly sweet, but it was definitely something I would eat again. I also got to make a smoothie and I'll definitely do that again. Kinda fell off the wagon after work, but S happens. lol

I should do the math and see if mine have less calories. lol

First things first, I slept in today. Lately, I've set my phone to go off at 11am, just to give me some semblance of a normal schedule, so I don't sleep my days away. So, my phone did go off, but I guess I just hit "Dismiss" instead of "Snooze" cuz next thing I knew it was noon. Not a huge deal, since I wasn't working, it just pushed my whole day back by an hour, which sucks a little by meh. I guess my body just needed the rest.

After that, I went to the gym and was gonna do my standard 2 hours, but after I was done on the treadmill (maybe 45 mins into my work out), I got kinda disoriented and wasn't sure if I should run to the bathroom or a garbage can or just lie down. I took a couple mins and walked it off and then was able to get back to my workout, but I decided to do less reps of stuff; partly to make sure I didn't start feeling bad again and partly to save a little time.

On my way home, I picked up some blueberries, which I had been meaning to do for a while to try to make a smoothie. Didn't get to it today, but probably tomorrow. Anyway, just went swimming after that, had dinner and now I'm sleepy. So, I'm gonna get to bed. Later. :)

Not really much to report today. I went to the gym, came home and moved some furniture, and then went and hung out with a friend. No swimming today cuz of reasons I'd rather not get into. So, that's it. lol

True, but I dunno if I'm a hypocrite for posting this. lol

- A couple handfuls of onion Sun Chips
- Terry's chocolate orange

I should have gotten a salad instead of a soup. I should have had way more protein today. I should have had cucumbers or something after work, not chips and chocolate. But I made these decisions and since I'm too much of a pussy to be bulimic, I'm stuck with them. lol. I feel like I could have done a lot worse and I have the next 2 days off for lots of gym and swim time. :)





Sun. July 1

- Granola bar
- Half a 5 cheese dip app (Shoeless Joe's)
- Small chicken caesar salad (Shoeless Joe's)
- Medium strawberry cheesequake blizzard (DQ)
- A few handfuls of peanuts
- About a 1/3 (or less) of a bloomin' onion
- 4 pieces of ribs (not sure if there's a proper term for that)
- 1/2 lb of pulled pork

Pretty decent Canada day, if I do say so myself. I watched Ted in the morning, had "breakfast", went swimming for 2 hours, had ice cream, went to ribfest in TO, saw some fireworks, went home and actually fell asleep before 1am. That is all. :)

- About 2 cups of rice w/lots of peas and broccoli and a little soya sauce

- 2 servings of Crystal Light
- Chocolate cupcake
- Small piece of white cake
- 8oz cheeseburger w/ketchup and lettuce
- Several onion rings
- About a cup of apple juice

Not much to say today. Work was super busy, especially since I was in the kitchen by myself all day. But that's over now and I can start to enjoy my 1 day weekend. :/

I attempted to make a really basic rice and pea soup, but I had too little broth and too much rice, so I basically made rice infused with chicken broth. lol. Oh well. I just added some peas and broccoli and took it for dinner at work. Also, today was the first day I haven't been to the gym since Monday. I probably could have squeezed in a short work out, but some of my muscles were kinda sore and I had a couple things I needed to get done at home. So, rest day for me. I know I'll be going swimming on Sunday and then I have next Tuesday and Wednesday off, so those will be what I am now referring to as Gym/Swim days; days when I have time to make it to the gym and go swimming later. Fun fun. :)

Thu. June 28

- 5/6 of a milk chocolate & hazelnut chocolate bar
- 50g box of Smarties

So, today was quite a fitness day. I did a BodyFlow (tai chi/yoga/pilates) class this afternoon and since I had the day off and I was already at the gym, I just decided to do my normal work out (two 30 min cardio sessions and various weight machines). That all worked out to 3 hours at the gym, after which I walked home, cleaned up a bit and then went swimming for an hour with a friend. I guess the dip and chocolate afterward was pretty counter productive, but I'm not perfect. lol

I need to live by these rules.
