Thu. February 28

Blah. Still so lazy.

Haven't been back to the gym yet and my eating has been pretty bad too. Lots of snacking on chocolate and gummies and whatnot. So, really gotta get back on track, especially after the little bit of personal math I did yesterday.

I counted the days and as of today, there's 39 days until my BDay. That in itself is not a big deal (except that I gotta start planning my party and inviting people soon) but I sure as don't wanna be as big/heavy as I am now on my BDay. I will say, I'm currently lighter than I was for my 23rd, but not by much. And I know I'm heavier than I was last year. My current goal weight is still what it was before I went to Cuba and, as of this morning, I'm 35.2lbs away from it. Now, I realize that losing that amount of weight in 39 days is close to impossible and super unhealthy but I need something to shoot for. Eye on the prize... shot for the moon, even if my miss, you'll land among the stars and crap like that. So, I just gotta be taking it one day at a time, one meal at a time, one work out at a time and hope all the little things add up to big results.

I will say however that I've burned some pretty decent calories that last few times I've worn my heart rate monitor. 1303 cal in six hours of work on Tuesday. 1614 in eight hours yesterday and 449 in forty mins of "brisk walking" on my treadmill just this morning. I'd like to think that's pretty good, but it probably just shows how unconditioned I became while on vacay, even though we stayed on the 3rd floor and took the stairs almost every time we went to the room. Whatevs.

Kinda have other stuff I wanna say, but I'll save it for another blog. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. Don't want to give you guys too much reading. :P

Mon. February 25

I'm back from Cuba.

Well, I've been back since about 2am on Sunday. Sorry I haven't posted sooner. I've been busy getting re-acclimated, cleaning up and resting. I've also been dealing with a not too happy tummy since the airport in Cuba. :/

Anyway, I won't get too into details, but the trip was good. We were delayed about 3 hours in the airport when we were leaving and the first couple days were a little chilly and windy, but otherwise, things were good.

I didn't get a chance to go to the gym while I was away so now I'm finding it hard to get motivated, even though my next "big thing" is my BDay in early April. I honestly don't wanna even try to wager a guess at what I'll look like then.

So, that's all I gotta say for now. I'm back to work tomorrow, so I'll see if that lights a fire under my ass. Or at least gets me off my bed... which is where I've spent like the last 2 days.

Sat. February 16

Just gonna make a really quick post cuz I need to leave for the airport soon.

So, I'm nowhere near what I would have liked to weigh before I left. My eating for the past few days hasn't been good and I only got to the gym twice this past week. So, whatever, can't change it now. Just gonna be fat and disgusting in Cuba and that's it. At least I'll have lots of booze to drink away my sorrows.

Ok, well, that's it. Talk to y'all in a week.

Tue. February 12

So much to say, but I don't wanna have to type it all. lol

Oh, so, I did not eat well during the weekend at all and the scale was very representative of that. I tried not to get too down about it, and just carried on trying to eat well.

So, I was planning on going to the gym after work yesterday. I got off at 8 and I was gonna get there for between 11 and 11:30. When I got home, I had some dinner and then went to mess around on my laptop before I left. My eyelids were pretty heavy and I kept taking little breaks to rest them. Eventually, I decided to google if it was more important to sleep or get exercise. I couldn't really find a definite answer, but I figured on the plus side, if I was sleeping, I couldn't eat anything. So, at 10:45, I got nice and comfy, turned off my lights and put something to listen to on my laptop. I closed my eyes and next thing I knew, it was 3:45am. I went downstairs to get some water, came back up, got comfy again, picked something else to listen to and fell asleep again. I know I woke up a couple more times before I finally decided to get up at about just after 11am. So, ya, I basically slept for 12 hours. I didn't feel fantastic, but I didn't feel bad either. It was apparently just what I needed.

I was able to get some treadmilling in before work. Work was kinda blah; it seemed like all the idiots came out and wanted fast food today. Oh well, at least I get the day off tomorrow.

2878! Holla! I was very surprised at my work amount, but all my info in my monitor was correct. And ya, I tried to use the sauna at the end of my work out cuz I'd read up on some of the benefits, but it was acting weird and wasn't as hot as it shoulda been. Oh well, it still counts.

If I'm not down another pound by tomorrow, I swear to God... *shakes fist* lol

Thu. February 7

Was gonna blog and then decided not to and then changed my mind again. So, here we are. lol

As I suspected(/feared) I had gained, but only .2lbs. Oh well. I got to use my treadmill again today for 5 mins. Did my other exercises, ate pretty well. Went to the gym after work, but for a shorter session cuz of my treadmill time before work.

1st work out - 612
Walk to work - 124
Work - 1131 (forgot to turn my monitor on til 20 mins into my shift again *facepalm*)
2nd work out - 477

Only 2344. Well, better than a kick in the face. We'll see the results tomorrow. Also, I haven't noticed any major changes, but I do think my all over fat stores are a touch smaller. And I feel like I just look a little better and smaller too. Obviously, no where near where I'd like to be, but something is better than nothing.

Wed. February 6

Pretty decent day was pretty decent.

I ended up sleeping an hour later than I wanted again, but that probably wouldn't have happened if I didn't need the sleep. I went through the usual morning routine, but I was finally able to carve out a block of time and use my treadmill. :)

Work was ok again and I went to the gym like usual. However, I kinda figured that since I'd gotten some exercise before work, I wouldn't have to be at the gym as long tonight. I mean, whether I burn 1000 cals at once or split into a few work outs throughout the day, it's still calories burned, right? Theoretically, this makes sense to me, but I'm still gonna google it. lol

Anyway, here's my break down...

1st work out - 459

2395. Damn. If I'd known that, I woulda pushed for those 5 extra cals at the gym. lol. That being said, I get the feeling that I might plateau or gain tomorrow. Dunno why. My eating was good and the cals burned seems fine. Maybe it's women's intuition, or I just know that a body can only show so much progress in a certain amount of time. I'm also probably not having rest days like I should, but I'm on a time crunch. And my weekends tend to be rest days. Well, only time will tell. Night night.

Tue. February 5

Quick entry. I'm tired. lol

Didn't use my treadmill again, but I did some other exercising stuff. I was down 2lbs, but I think my scale may be a little on the fritz. I'll see how tomorrow's weigh in goes.

Work was ok, eating was alright, went to the gym after and did different weight machines to use different muscle groups. I also  tried squatting with an olympic barbell; 10 reps w/45lbs, 10 reps w/65lbs. Wasn't as bad as I thought and I think I'll try it again with more weight next time.

Mon. February 4

Oh God. So tired and sore for all the right reasons.

I was surprised this morning when I weighed myself and found out that even though my eating over the weekend had been less than stellar, I was pretty much the same weight as Friday morning. It was great, but it just means I need to be more diligent with everything.

So, this morning, I had to go get a Twinrix shot for Cuba at 10am. I was pretty friggen tired for the whole outing and was considering coming home and just going back to bed til noon. My dad encouraged it, so that's what I did. When I woke up, I made myself a protein shake, the water weight flushing drink, and some oatmeal, did a little laundry, did my Shake Weight and the "Fab Ab February" mini work out. I didn't get to the treadmill today cuz I decided to hang out with my nephew (whom I hadn't seen for several days).

After that, I just went to work for 8 hours, and then to the gym right after. I decided to put something I'd read about not holding onto hand rails on cardio equipment at the gym to use. So, I tried to hold onto the stair climber as little as possible. A good majority of the time I didn't hold on, but holy hell. My calves could feel it, my lungs were getting dry; it definitely kicked up my work out. Anyway, I just did some of my usual gym stuff after that and went home.

This is how my dad was in terms of cals burned...

Work - 1246 (I forgot to turn on my monitor until 26 mins into my shift)

Only 2364 for sure. Hopefully I didn't eat too many cals, but I'm sure I was pretty good today.

Well, I'm all showered and tired and sore yet comfy in bed, so sleepies for me. Dear weight loss Gods, please let me be down at least .2lbs... and maybe an inch smaller in the waste. Amen! -.- lol

Sun. February 3

Food wasn't great this weekend, but I'm gonna try to not let the numbers on the scale get me too down tomorrow.

Anyway though, my work schedule this week is 4pm-12am Mon-Fri so. these are my goals for the next 5 weekdays...

- Use my treadmill every day before work (5 times)
- Go to the gym every night after work (4 times)
- Start the Jillian Michaels water weight flush again
- Do the "Fit February" quick work out every day
- Do Shake Weight every day
- Protein shake every morning
- Eat as much oatmeal as I comfortably can
- Lots of fruits and veg

Sound good? I think so. :)

Fri. February 1

Not entirely sure what to think of today.

I had to wake up earlier than usual to make sure I was in Toronto for 11am to have a hair day with a friend. I had oatmeal and 2 pieces of toast for breakfast and figured that would tide me over (for the most part) til I got home a few-ish hours later. Well, I ended up not leaving to go home til like 7 (due to various reasons, it's a long story). I ate 2 granola bars in that time and I had water with me, but I didn't really have much.

When I got home, I was expecting to have to rush to be ready and go hang out with another friend, but they never contacted me. So, I made myself a large banana protein shake and finished a little steamed rice we had kicking around, with lots of peas and a little soya sauce.

Afterwards, I got all bundled up in my bed cuz I was friggen cold. I had been thinking about using my treadmill but I wasn't sure if I was gonna have the time and I was sorta tired, but I eventually decided "eff it" and I did 55 mins, 2 - 3.5 incline, alternating between 3.5 and 6mph. I burned about 680 cals. :) Now I'm in that awkward time when I'm not sure IF I should eat and WHAT I should eat. Not sure how this is gonna play out. I'll just stick to water as much as I can and maybe have something low in carbs and cals and high in protein. Not sure if there's anything in the house matching that description though.

Anyway, that's pretty much it. I got a call from my doctor's nurse to let me know the results of some blood work I had a couple days ago: Hep C free, but no immunity to Hep A and B. So, there's another $180 for that set of vaccinations. :/

Thu. January 31

Quick post. I'm tired and need to be up early.

Eating was fairly good today. Only had to go to the bathroom at work once though, so I think I should've had more water today.

I need to stop using the stationary bike at the gym. Or at least use it as my 2nd cardio machine cuz I don't burn enough cals on it. I also tried some different machines, to mix it up and hopefully make me sore in different places. lol
